Antler hunting

About a year ago, My dad got a new dog. It is a labrador retriever we trained him to do tricks but we also trained him to do something else. We are training him to find deer antlers whenever they shed them. What we do is we found some deer antlers out in the woods ourselves and the we brought them back to our yard and buried them under leaves without him knowing where we buried them. Then we tell him to search the area we put them in and he will find them. So now when we are in the woods, we tell him to search the area and he will find any antlers if there are any and if there aren't, he will just come back and sit next to you. He can find them because he remembers the scent of deer antlers now.
